A chat agent answers your visitors from your knowledge sources — your docs, policies, FAQs and product pages — rather than from general knowledge. It captures leads, opens tickets and books meetings while it does it.

The agent list

The Chat Agent page lists every agent in the workspace, with Total agents, Total messages and each agent’s status. From here you create a new agent or open an existing one.

Building one

1

Add knowledge

Load your content into Knowledge Source and wait for training. An agent with nothing to read can’t answer anything.
2

Create the agent

Name it and open its detail page.
3

Configure it

Six tabs: Info & Appearance, Knowledge, Channels, FAQs, Connect and Settings.
4

Test it

Use the preview to ask real questions before anyone else does.
5

Deploy

Copy one script tag onto your site.

The six tabs

Build & customize covers the first two and the last; Channels and Deploy have their own pages.

What the agent produces

Everything the agent does lands in Conversations:

Plan requirements

Chat agents need a plan that grants at least one chatbot. On the Free plan the sidebar item shows an Upgrade badge. Your plan also sets how many agents you can have, how long message history is retained, and whether you can remove Botric branding.

Compare plans

Chatbot limits and message history by plan.

Next steps

Build & customize

Name, messages, appearance and behaviour.
