Everything on an agent’s Info & Appearance, Knowledge, FAQs and Settings tabs. A live preview sits beside the form so you can see changes before saving.

Info & Appearance

Identity

Conversation

Suggested questions are the highest-leverage field on this tab. Three good ones raise engagement more than any styling change — use the top questions from your Conversations logs.

Widget mode

Three ways to present the agent: In modal mode you also set the button label (default Ask AI) and its colours.

Theming

  • Brand colour — the primary accent, pre-filled from your brand profile.
  • Theme mode — light or dark.
  • Widget colours — header, body, footer, background, user bubble, bot bubble, input box, send button and widget icon, each individually adjustable.
  • Show branding — hide the Botric badge on plans that allow custom branding.

Allowed domains

Restrict where the widget will run. Only the domains you list can embed this agent — worth setting before you go live so nobody else can load your agent on their site.

Knowledge

Choose which of the workspace’s knowledge sources this agent reads. Source types are grouped as Websites, Files, FAQ, Text and Audio/Video. Banners tell you when something is wrong:
  • Knowledge sources are empty — nothing to answer from.
  • Training underway — indexing in progress.
  • Some items failed to train — retry those items.
Deploying an agent with no trained knowledge produces an assistant that can’t answer anything about your business. Wait for training to complete.

FAQs

Once training finishes, Botric generates FAQs from your knowledge sources — usually within 30–60 seconds. The tab shows Total FAQs and marks each as AI generated. You can edit, delete or regenerate the set. If generation fails, the tab offers a retry.

Settings

  • Disable chatbot — take the agent offline without deleting it. The embed stays in place and stops responding.
  • Danger zoneDelete this chat agent. Permanent, and it takes the agent’s data with it.

Preview and testing

The preview panel renders the chat interface and the website appearance (widget or modal) as you edit. Open preview launches a full-page version, and Copy preview URL gives you a link to share with a colleague before you deploy.
