Onboarding runs the first time you sign in, and again whenever you add a workspace. Nothing is saved to your account until the final step — you can move backwards and change anything.

Step 1 — Website

Three fields:
  • Workspace name — how this brand appears in the workspace switcher.
  • Website URL — the site Botric will read, audit and track.
  • Target market — a single country. Competitor discovery and prompt generation are anchored to this market, and your GEO scores are reported for it.
As soon as you continue, Botric starts reading the site in the background: it pulls your favicon, extracts a brand colour palette from it, and runs a business-profile analysis.
If you already have a paid subscription, this step also shows the credit cost of creating a workspace and warns you when your balance is short. See How credits work.

Step 2 — Brand

Botric pre-fills what it learned from your site. Review it carefully — every downstream agent reads this profile. Topics are ordered — the first is treated as primary. You can add, remove and reorder them.
Accuracy here beats speed. A vague summary produces vague prompts, and vague prompts produce a GEO score that doesn’t reflect your real market.

Step 3 — Competitors

Botric searches for competitors against each of your core topics and pre-selects up to five, split across your topics rather than filled by whichever topic returned results first. You can:
  • Toggle any suggestion on or off (five selected, maximum).
  • Add a competitor manually by name and website.
  • Retry the search if it failed or returned nothing useful.
Only the selected set is used for benchmarking, share of voice and gap analysis.
Editing your brand profile and coming back regenerates the competitor list. Unchanged profiles skip the re-run so going back and forward is instant.

Step 4 — Pages

Botric crawls your site for internal links and groups them. Select the pages the first Site Audit should analyse.
Include your homepage, your main product or service pages, and your pricing and about pages. Those are the pages AI engines cite most often.

Plan selection

Brand-new accounts go to the plans screen after step 4. Nothing is created until a plan is active — so if you leave here, you don’t end up with a half-built workspace. Pick Free, or start a paid plan with a 7-day trial. Existing subscribers skip this screen. The workspace, site and first runs are created immediately.

What happens on completion

  1. The workspace is created and your favicon becomes its icon.
  2. The site is created, carrying your business profile, competitors and target market.
  3. Your tracked prompt set is generated from your topics.
  4. Site Audit starts on the pages you chose.
  5. AI Visibility (GEO) starts in parallel.
  6. You land on Get Started in the new workspace.
Both runs take a few minutes. If the GEO run fails to start, the AI Visibility page offers an inline retry.

Changing things later

Everything onboarding collected is editable:

Brand Profile

Brand name, summary, topics, target market, colours and competitors.

Site Audit

Re-run the audit or change which pages are crawled.
