# Glossary

> The terms Botric uses, defined.

## Core terms

**GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)** — Optimizing to be named and cited in AI-generated answers, rather than to rank in a list of links.

**GEO score** — A 0–100 measure of how visible your brand is across the AI platforms your plan tests. Bands: 90–100 excellent, 80–89 good, 70–79 fair, below 70 needs improvement.

**Site Health** — A 0–100 measure of your website's technical condition, from [Site Audit](/search/site-audit). Same bands as the GEO score.

**Answer engine** — An AI system that answers a question directly instead of returning links — ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI, Mistral, Poe, and Google's AI Overview.

## Visibility terms

**Mention** — Your brand name appearing in an AI's answer.

**Citation** — One of your URLs appearing as a source for an AI's answer. Citations are harder to earn than mentions and worth more.

**Mention rate** — The share of tested prompts where your brand was mentioned.

**Share of voice** — Of all brand mentions across your tracked prompts, the proportion that were yours.

**Prompt outcomes** — The four states a prompt/platform pair resolves to — **named and cited** (no gap), **named, not cited** (content gap), **cited, not named** (positioning gap), **not mentioned** (invisible).

**Content gap** — A prompt where an AI answered without citing you — usually while citing a competitor.

**Positioning gap** — A prompt where your page was cited but your brand went unnamed.

**Brand perception** — Whether the models describe your brand the way you position it, measured against your [brand profile](/workspace/brand-profile).

## Prompt terms

**Tracked prompt** — A prompt Botric monitors on every GEO run. The set is AI-managed and refilled to your plan's cap each run.

**Add-on prompt** — A prompt you added yourself, in a fixed number of slots per site on paid plans.

**Intent type** — What the person asking wants — informational, commercial, comparison, buyer intent, branded, locational, adjacent, direct or general.

## Content terms

**Content Brain** — The consolidated context — audit, visibility, SERP and Search Console signals — the Content Agent writes from.

**Citability** — How likely a page is to be quoted as a source by an AI engine. Scored on every generated blog and by [GEO Audit](/search/geo-audit).

**Trust stack** — The corroborating signals that make a brand safe to cite — an about page, contact details, a LinkedIn presence, knowledge-graph entries.

**Hallucination bait** — Vague or contradictory content a model may reword into something factually wrong about you.

**Content decay** — Content stale enough that models prefer a more recently updated source.

## Product objects

**Organization** — Your account boundary — plan, credits, invoices and team.

**Workspace** — One brand and one website, with its own agents, reports and conversations.

**Site** — The domain inside a workspace that gets crawled and tracked.

**Knowledge source** — Content — website, file, FAQ, text, audio or video — that trains a chat agent.

**Run** / **Report** — One execution of an agent, and the saved output it produces.

## Billing

**Plan credits** — Credits granted each billing cycle. They reset at rollover.

**Add-on credits** — Credits bought as packs. They don't expire with the cycle.

**Proration** — The balancing charge applied when you change plan mid-cycle.
